CHS EVENTS YOU WON’T WANT TO MISS

Second Annual Mystery Dinner at the Caledonia Historical Village (CHV)

The second annual mystery dinner will be held in the Big Red Botting Shed on May 24th.  Who is the victim?  Who are the suspects?  You will have to attend to find out.

New Event for the CHS–Car Wash at Floral Creations on Douglas

The car wash will be held on June 21st.  No dirty brushes used to scratch your paint.  Just “expert” car wash people ready to send you on your way with  a sparkling car.

Brewtown Cruisers 44th Annual Car Show at the Caledonia Historical Village

The 44th annual Brewtown Cruisers Car Show will be held September 6th.  Beautifully restored and unique cars will be on display.  Food and Baked goods are always available.

Second Annual Barn Dance in the Big Red Botting Shed at the CHV

The second annual Barn Dance will be held September 20th.  Celebrate beautiful fall weather (we hope) with the CHS Volunteers.

Christmas Santa Bake Sale in the 1877 Town Hall at the CHV

The annual Christmas Santa Bake Sale will be held December 5th through the 7th.  The CHS bakers provide many delicious treats.  Why bake when the CHS bakers do it for you?

CHS MEETINGS AND OPEN HOUSES

The CHS meets the third Thursday of the month at 6:30 pm.  The CHS does not meet the months of December through March, but Board meetings are held on a regular basis.

The April and November meetings are held at the Franksville Park Building, and the May through October meetings are held in the Botting Shed at the CHV.

Guest Speakers will be announced when appropriate.

Monthly open houses are held the third Sunday of the month May through October.  The buildings are open with docents available to answer questions.  Check out the new display in the Museum.

VISIT THE BEAUTIFUL GROUNDS OF THE CALEDONIA HISTORICAL VILLAGE

The grounds are open from dawn to dusk.  If you use the grounds for special event photography, please make a donation.  The CHV is owned and operated by the volunteers of the Caledonia Historical Society with funding from membership dues, donations, grants and fund raising activities. There is no funding from a governmental source.

 

 

 

CHRISTMAS ACTIVITIES AT THE CALEDONIA HISTORIC VILLAGE

REPORT FROM SANTA CLAUS

The Caledonia Historical Society will be holding their annual Christmas Bake Sale in the 1877 Town Hall.  Santa will be waiting to take pictures with young and old in the 1840 Log Cabin.

This all takes place at the Caledonia Historical Village, 7330 5 Mile Road, just east of Hwy 38 on 5 Mile Road.

Friday, December 6th, from 4 pm to 7 pm

Saturday, December 7th, from 11 am to 3 pm

Sunday, December 8th, from 12 pm to 3 pm

Santa says HO, HO, HO!  Cannot wait to share some holiday cheer!

OPEN HOUSES

The final open house of the 2024 season at the Caledonia Historic Village was in October.  The next open house with buildings open with docents will be in May, 2025.

THE 1927 CABOOSE

The caboose  under went a  renovation with repairs to the siding and a new paint job.  Instead of red, the caboose is painted in yellow and green, the colors that were on the caboose when it was in use.  Volunteers are always needed for the many projects at the Caledonia Historic Village.  If you want to help, the work crew is at the CHV on Monday ad Thursday mornings from 9 am until Noon.

MEMBERSHIP MEETINGS.

The CHS meets monthly from April through November on the third Thursday of the month at 6:30 pm.  The May through September meetings are held in the Botting Shed at the Caledonia Historic Village, just east of Hwy 38 on 5 Mile Rd. The April, October and November meetings are held at the Franksville Memorial Park.

CHS Board meetings will be held during the December through March time period.  Members will be notified as to the date, times, locations.
