Fall 2024 at the Caledonia Historic Village
OPEN HOUSES
The final open house of the season at the Caledonia Historic Village will be October 20th from Noon to 4 pm. Docents will be available in each building to share the history of the building. The only open house in September will be in conjunction with the Brewtown Cruisers cars how on Saturday, September 7th. The buildings will be open with docents from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm.
THE 1927 CABOOSE
The caboose is under renovation with repairs to the siding and a new paint job. Instead of red, the caboose will be painted in yellow and green, the colors that were on the caboose when it was in use. Volunteers are always needed for the many projects at the Caledonia Historic Village. If you want to help, the work crew is at the CHV on Monday ad Thursday mornings from 9 am until Noon.
CAR SHOW
The Brewtown Cruisers will be holding their 43rd annual car show at the Caledonia Historic Village on Saturday, September 7th, from 10 am to 3 pm. Baked goods available from 9 am until gone. Food and beverages available for purchase from 10 am until 3 pm. Admission is free for all 49-51 Mercurys and spectators. Car registration is $10 in advance and $15 the day of the show. Music by Slick Rick. The historic buildings will be open from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm.
The Caledonia Historic Society is a 501(c)3 non-profit owned and operated by volunteers. Funding to maintain the Caledonia Historic Village is through grants, member dues, fund raising activities and donations.
FIRST ANNUAL BARN DANCE
The CHS is presenting the first annual Barn Dance in the Botting Shed at the Caledonia Historic Village on Saturday, September 21st, from 6 pm to 9 pm. Doors open at 5:30 pm. Admission is free. Music by Bucky Albright with music for all ages. Food, beverages, raffle baskets and tickets will be available for purchase.
MEMBERSHIP MEETINGS.
The CHS meets monthly from April through October on the third Thursday of the month at 6:30 pm. The May through October meetings are held in the Botting Shed at the Caledonia Historic Village, just east of Hwy 38 on 5 Mile Rd. The guest speakers at the October 17th meeting will be Ken and Barb Wardius. They will be presenting information on WI lighthouses.
RAISED BED GARDENS
There are two raised bed gardens at the Caledonia Historical Village. If anyone is interested in growing fresh produce, contact the CHS through this website. The first year of rent is free, water is provided, and assistance from a master gardener is available.

VISIT THE BEAUTIFUL GROUNDS OF THE CALEDONIA HISTORICAL VILLAGE
The grounds are open from dawn to dusk. If you use the grounds for special event photography, please make a donation. The CHV is owned and operated by the volunteers of the Caledonia Historical Society with funding from membership dues, donations, grants and fund raising activities. There is no funding from a governmental source.
