THE BOTTING BARN IS IN PLACE!
WEATHER WAS WET, THEY MADE A MESS, BUT THE BARN IS UP!
Thanks to several CHS members and volunteers and Badger Construction, the 1919 Botting Rd Barn/Machine Shed has been placed on a permanent foundation and pieced back together. Here are some pictures to show part of the process. There is still alot to do in the Spring to start the renovation of the barn and to level the area around and leading up to the barn and to reseed the grass. BUT CHS, after a two year fund raising effort, has the barn in place in the Caledonia Historical Park. AND we are not done. We will continue to raise funds for a cement floor, for repair/replacement of some of the siding, and for other upcoming costs.

This makes me SOOOOO happy. This was my great grandparents barn!
Becky, this was also my great grandparents’ barn. We’ve never met, I’m sure. My grandpa was Harry Botting and my father was Donald Botting. Who were your grandparents?
